San Ginesio guided tour
San Ginesio is a delightful small town with a strong medieval stamp; it is still completely surrounded by ancient walls and towers.
San Ginesio is also in the area of the National Park of Sibillini Mountains and offers a gorgeous view of these moutains.
To visit:
the historic centre;
the splendid Collegiate Church , whose crypt houses delightful frescoes painted by Lorenzo Salimbeni;
the Romanesque church of San Francesco;
the theatre Leopardi;
the civic museum, housing works by Marche painters of the 15th and 16th centuries and a modern section collecting contemporary works, musical instruments and holy objects .
Food and wines
The typical dish is the "polenta", obtained with a variety of local corn and a sauce made of different types of meat.
