Guided tour of Visso
Visso is one of The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy.
It' s a delightful town situated in the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. It boasts impressive walls, medieval buildings, Renaissance noble palaces , carved stone doorways with coats of arms and Latin mottoes.
To visit:
the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria, housing medieval works of art;
the Church of S. Agostino, housing the Civic Museum, with valuable paintings and manuscripts written by Giacomo Leopardi.
Near Visso
Few miles far from Visso there’s the Sanctuary of Macereto, built in the first half of the sixteenth century.
Food and wine
The specialty is the “ciauscolo”, a soft spreadable pork salame.
